Jeffrey Stockton Honolulu, Hawaii. The Place To Be!

Jeffrey Stockton Honolulu, HawaiiThis particular post is going to be focused on my new home…Honolulu. I’ll keep this brief seeing as there are countless great aspects of Honolulu to blog about. Last time I pointed out why I moved to Honolulu and also why this city is really amazing but this time I will mention the reason why this particular place is the best. The most apparent explanation is the climate. Jeffrey Stockton really loves the sunshine and fortunately weather here is great all year. We have been so pampered by the perfect weather conditions here that individuals complain in the event the temp gets below seventy. It seldom rains and it also hardly ever even will get cold. If it actually does rain it can be still sunny at the same time. Many people in Honolulu know this as “liquid sunshine.”

I really like how pleasant everybody in Hawaii is. I’ve gotten plenty of good friends since I have been here it is absurd. My buddies and family are almost always amazed at the quantity of people I’ve met here. It is simple to make friends when people here are very pleasant. My personal theory is that everyone here is in a good mood because climate is almost always good.

While it’s not as big as New York or L.A.., Honolulu is widely seen as a major metropolitan city. Therefore there is fun stuff to do virtually every single hour of the day. Almost all cities throughout the country get extremely boring during the night and the ones which are fun aren’t located in warm places except for Miami and L.A.. When compared to a lot of cities that have hot weather Honolulu has considerably more happening. Considering that the pubs here stay wide open until Four every morning the nightlife here is awesome. Honolulu also has a huge amount of terrific restaurants to choose from, you could pretty much eat at a different ethnic restaurant every day for 2 weeks if you want.

Honolulu is also famous due to its awesome hikes. Anyone who knows me is aware that Jeffrey Stockton likes to hike. I have a handful of preferred hikes which include Kuliou’ou along with Mariners Ridge but in case you would like a shorter scenic hike there are a few excellent ones to choose from for instance Diamond Head or perhaps Manoa Falls. Similar to the places to eat you could potentially virtually take a completely different hike every day for a few weeks but still not ever get to all of them.
If you enjoy discovering different nationalities you would really enjoy residing in Honolulu. If you reside in Honolulu it’s too easy to meet folks from all around the world. Travelers from all over the world travel here each day and on top of that the town is a ethnic melting pot. You can spend just one day in Waikiki and meet a different person from a completely different part of the world everyday. Thankfully I’ve made a substantial amount of good friends from throughout the world while residing here therefore I’ll always have a person to visit whenever I travel.

Asia seems like a very amazing spot and so I pray I’m able to visit there some day. Thankfully plane tickets to Asia from Honolulu aren’t costly in the slightest degree. Plane tickets to Japan are just about $600 so that leaves cash for other enjoyable things. I am honestly looking forward to doing this and I’m considering saving up some money so I can make it happen next summer. As much as I enjoy Honolulu it is nice to visit a new destination for three months and find out more about some other societies.
Anyway, those are a few explanations why I love Honolulu a whole lot. If you have not ever been here before then you ought to stop by or else if you reside here then you already know what i’m saying. Locate Jeffrey Stockton inside the phone book if you’re ever in town and I would personally gladly show you all the stuff Honolulu has to offer. I am normally down to surf or go on a nice hike!

This a personal blog that I made for a school project. My job is to blog about my daily life for my undergrad English class. I doubt if anyone will read this but I’ll be writing about everything from my schoolwork to my job (which I hate) to the crazy things that my dog Frito does. This is my second year at the University of Hawaii. I moved here from Delaware because I grew up surfing but hated the cold water back home.

Once I got here I knew this place was home. I visited Honolulu once as a kid when my family and I were here on vacation and I always dreamed of coming back. When I was in high school all of my friends were either staying in Delaware or at the furthest going to college in California. I had my mind made up to go to U of Hawaii so it was the only school I applied to…fortunately I got in because my grades were not the best.

So here I am two years later writing a blog for my English class. I’m majoring in history because it was always my favorite subject in school growing up. Of all the history classes I’ve taken so far Hawaiian history has been by far my favorite. The state of Hawaii has an amazing history which most people don’t even know about. Their history is the classic story of an indigenous people who were exploited by white settlers who forced their ideals on them in the name of God.

Once I graduate I can either get a job as an English teacher or I can go on to grad school. I’ve been actually debating whether to get a graduate degree in Hawaiian history. I’m not sure if a degree in that field will pay very well but at least I’ll be doing something I enjoy.

Who Is Jeffrey Stockton?

Outside of school a few other things that I really enjoy (besides surfing obviously) is hiking and skateboarding with my dog Frito (yes he skateboards.) I first got Frito when he was a puppy after some friends and I moved off campus. We moved into a house so I thought we needed a dog. He was by far the coolest dog in the litter but I had no idea he would grow up to be the coolest dog ever. Frito eats anything…even beer. We can’t leave anything around the house or he’ll eat it. When we have parties you have to watch your beers or he’ll knock them over and lick up the beer. Smart, huh?

Anyway back to the skateboarding. One day I was skateboarding while taking Frito for a walk and I lost my balance and the skateboard shot out from under me and Frito took off after it and jumped on. He rode for like a block before he ran into the curb. Since then I’ve been taking him to the park with me to skateboard and everyone gets a kick out of watching him skate. It also helps with the ladies because they always come up to me and ask to pet him and stuff.

Well that should be enough words to satisfy my first English assignment. My next post will be about a hike that my friends and I are going on this weekend. I can’t remember the name of the place but it’s somewhere out in Hawaii Kai.

Aloha!

Jeffrey Stockton
